2010 Callaway Assistant Championship
Thirty six holes wasn't enough to determine the winner of the 2010 Callaway Golf Assistant Championship hosted by Ko Olina Golf Club. Kevin Shimomura of Ko Olina Golf Club and Regan Lee of Pearl Country Club battled in a sudden-death playoff where Shimomura sank a twelve foot birdie putt on the first hole to capture the lone qualifying spot for the 34th Callaway Golf PGA Assistant Championship to be held November 11-14th at the PGA Golf Club, Wanamaker Course. Much mahalo to Chris Wright of Callaway Golf , Ko Olina Golf Club, and host PGA Professionals Greg Nichols, and Travis Joerger for their support of this event. Nelson Headed to Indian Wells

Kirk Nelson of Makena Golf Course took home top honors at the Aloha Section PGA Senior Championship claiming him a berth into the 2010 Senior PGA Professional National Championship to be held October 7-10, 2010 at Toscana Country Club in Indian Wells, CA. Nelson played the front nine over a two day span at one-over but it was the back nine where he separated himself from the field. Nelson captured the Championship with his stellar 6-under play on the back nine over the two days of competition.
A special thanks goes to Director of Golf and current Aloha Section PGA President Scott Ashworth, PGA for hosting the event at no charge and the PGA Tour for their sponsorship of the event.

Castillo, Nishimoto Capture Pro-Pro
The team of Wade Nishimoto and Ron Castillo Jr. shot a six under 65 on the Royal Ka'anapali Course for a two-day total of -12 (129) to clench the win in the two person better ball tournament. It all came down to the final two holes. Light trade winds allowed for some great birdie opportunities on the Royal Course. It was a birdie on #17 that put Nishimoto and Castillo in the hunt for the trophy, one stroke ahead of the round one leaders, Ben Hongo and Kevin Shimomura, but still one stroke off Andrew Feldmann and Larry Stubblefield, who have a proven track record of wins as a team.
